The first post

It is the last day of the year, currently 2:26 AM, and I’m writing this because I can’t sleep. It’s frustrating since I have a million things to do tomorrow.

But I’ve felt a need to start this blog for a long time.

My brain has been cluttered, too many thoughts spiraling around, keeping me up at night: the current situation.

Maybe it would’ve been best to wait for the new year, to make writing my resolution. But I’ve never really fallen into that line of thinking. Clear breaks, discrete milestones. Time is more of a continuous, flowing river.

“There’s no time like the present.”

In reality, I never followed that advice either. I was inspired to start this blog more than a year ago. It came to me after reading Paul Graham’s blogs. I appreciated his writing style: the flow of consciousness and stylistic simplicity felt like talking to a friend.

When writing publicly, it’s difficult to be vulnerable like a friend can. We want to come off smart, confident, well-structured. But through this blog, I want to connect with others. My goal is not to give you information or tell you I’m right. I’m interested in sharing my perspective, and provoking thought.

So my writing may not be the most clear, coherent or straightforward, but it will be genuine. And hopefully over time, my writing will get a little clearer, a little more coherent, and you’ll get a better picture of my worldview.
